We heartily encourage writers and artists to submit their work for display on our webzine. Please familiarize yourself with our theme list and guidelines before submitting. Submissions should be suitable for viewing by children and contain no violence or profanity.
Articles should be typed, double-spaced, and no more than 750 words (we will consider articles that are slightly larger than our ideal. All work is subject to editing). Full texts please, no queries. When sending artwork DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS--please send high quality copies only! We will not be responsible for work lost in the mail. Only include SASE’s for return of artwork. Manuscripts will be recycled.
Being a new and small magazine, we are offering a payment of $.01 per word (maximum $10.00). Payment for artwork is $5.00 for cover art, $2.00 per illustration and $1.00 per photo. Payments are made per issue and within four weeks following issue release date. If you have more than one piece appearing in an issue, you will recieve one payment with an intemized list of what the payment is for. Payment for domestic work will be made by money order. International work will be paid through paypal.
Contributors under age 18 must include a letter from a parent or guardian (with verifiable address and phone number) granting permission for Broomstix to use the material and confirming age and originality.
We require only one-time electronic rights. Contributors retain all other rights.
We will respond by email within 2 weeks to all submissions if possible.
