Mooo-nstones!

Hi Folks! Welcome back to the farm and Merry Met!

It's been a hot summer here at the Lapi-dairy, which is why, when the stable doors get left open, I take myself for a wee stroll to the edge of our rock cliff. There I can enjoy the night breeze and have a perfect view of the moon.

On evenings when it's full and high in the summer night, it reminds me of the white and cloudy stones we find here in the clay called—you guessed it!--moonstones.

Not all moonstones look the same, but they all remind us of Luna. Some have a bluish aura, while others have a slight tinge of grey, brown or even green. They have a sheen to them, and some folks think they can see both a crescent and a full moon inside, depending on how they are held.

Moonstones, like the moon, represent Goddess energy—she who touches our sleep and grants us dreams. Put one under your pillow and see if your dreams are more numerous or clearer! They also have an effect upon emotions, and are sometimes called “the lovers stone”--but love comes in all shapes and forms.

Feeling angry with yourself or someone else? Don't like that feeling? Carry a moonstone with you for three days, and focus on letting go of your anger. The moonstone helps tension and upset fade away, just as the full moon seems to fade away to the new. You can also carry a moonstone for luck, strength and better health. It is at its strongest when used at the full moon.

Don't forget to ground your moonstone before you set it to work! See Spellworx in the Midsummer Broomstix issue to learn how. Enjoy the rest of your summer. Get outside in the evening air and enjoy the dance of the wind and stars. It's a moooving experience!

Till next time, I'm Rua---moooving on!
