Phew! I always thought the end of Summer would be mostly relaxing, but was I so SO wrong! The last few weeks have been crazy! Listen to this. My mom ordered 25 chicks back in February. We were supposed to get them in June--in the early summer, when chicks are supposed to be born. But they didn't come in June--they came in September!

The chicks came in a mailing box--almost a whole season late!

Then, one morning, my little brother pushed me out of bed to tell me to "come see the bunnies." One of our rabbits had tiny baby bunnies, but not when she was supposed to. Aren't these things supposed to happen in the Spring?

Here's mama rabbit Daisy and her EIGHT babies! Her timing is definitely off!

And this Summer, my mom's pumpkins got ripe early. Mom said it was because of the weather (cool and lots of rain!). I aksed her if we could carve them, but she told me if we did that they'd be a pile of goo by Halloween.

Pumpkins in July?

I don't understand--bunnies and chicks in the Fall, and Pumpkins in Summer. Mom and Dad have always told me that everything happens when it should, but that's not what happened this year. I think that there's probably a little bit of every season in all the seasons. You know what I mean--even in Winter there's a little bit of Spring--like when those first flowers poke their heads out of the snow. You just have to look for it. And sometimes it gives you a surprise (I wish Mom would surprise me with a shopping trip...)

So, was your summer crazy like mine? Tell me all about it! Write to me at broomstixforkids@yahoo.com. Later!
